Lukla Airport
Lukla airport is also known as Tenzing–Hillary Airport, is located at an elevation 2846 meters above the sea level. The length of airport is 527meters. Lukla Airport is the gateway to Mount Everest. Actually, Lukla Airport was named Tenzing-Hillary Airport in 2008 to honor Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. The first two confirmed ever to set foot on top of Mount Everest. And they also had contributed great effort to construct this airport.
Note: All Flights to Lukla will be available from Manthali Aiport instead of Kathmandu Airport effectively from 1st October, 2022 until further notice from Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.
