77,703 tourists visited Nepal in May, 2023.
In the month of May 2023, the number of tourists has reached almost the same as in the month of May 2019. According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 77,703 tourists visited Nepal by air in May.
Earlier, 78 thousand 329 tourists visited Nepal in May 2019, the year before the start of the covid infection. Tourist arrival in May 2023 is less than 2019 by only 626 people. In May 2022, 53 thousand 608 tourists, 1531 tourists in 2021 and only 31 tourists visited Nepal in 2020. The data shows that Nepal's tourism has bounced back by 99.20 percent compared to the tourist arrivals of 2019.
The countries that many tourists come to Nepal are India, America, China, UK, Australia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Germany, France and South Korea. In May, 36 thousand 575 people from southern neighboring country India, 8 thousand 545 people from America, 4 thousand 667 people from China, 2 thousand 927 people from Britain, 2 thousand 184 people from Australia, 2 thousand 184 people from Bangladesh One thousand 164 people have come to visit Nepal.
Similarly, 1,321 tourists from Malaysia, 1,165 tourists from Germany, 1,097 tourists from France and 1,039 tourists from South Korea visited Nepal in May, according to the Nepal Tourism Board.
